Who us? A Website? Uhhh…

We had just finished a performance at a rather large private party when a well-dressed woman came up to us. She said she loved our voices and would like to hire us to sing at one of her upcoming parties. Just as we realized none of us had a choir business card to share with her, the woman asked:

“Oh that’s ok. Why don’t you just give me your website URL and I’ll find you there.”

We looked at each other, then down at our wineglasses (it was a very nice party), then back up at the woman. A few of us managed to muster up the courage to speak…mostly on top of each other:

“Uhhh, we don’t actually have a website…”

“Yet…”

“But we’re working on one!”

“And a Facebook page too!”

The woman smiled and someone gave her a phone number. She didn’t realize that we aren’t a professional choir.

We are a choir of women who just love to sing together. We’ve developed our own unique Mrs. Murphy’s Choir sound over the years, and people like it. So we’re asked to sing for events, parties, fundraisers, wakes, and the occasional wedding. We always have a great time.

We’ve never had specified fees for our performances — we usually sing for donations, which we use to purchase music, pay our choir director and cover choir-related expenses. Other than the occasional concert flyer and some business cards, we haven’t done much in the way of marketing ourselves. And up to the point of publishing this website, 100% of our gigs had come by word-of-mouth.  The need for a website and Facebook page just never came up. Until it did.

So, at long last, here we are, with a website and a Facebook page! We will try to keep it up to date with our latest news, but if we lag a bit and you’re curious. Just contact us and we’ll be happy to fill you in.
